Magical Poop

Mom says my poop makes her happy!
 (NO, she's NOT smoking it)
She wanted to post pictures of it, but I talked her out of it!
Apparently, it's looking pretty close to normal, which means my guts are a lot less inflamed.
Here's a couple pictures of me and my bestest bud, Memphis:

I-ncredibly B-eautiful D-oggie!!!

Yup.  That's me!
We got test results back and the internist doc said I have IBD.  I'm thinking, why...thank you!  I AM an Incredibly Beautiful Doggie!  ... or it could be Intelligently Brilliant Doggie!
Wait a minute...  It could also be Idiotic Butt-headed Dork.
So I Googled IBD and found Inflammatory Bowel Disease (mild-moderate).  YIKES!!

They found stuff that makes them think I'm sensitive to something I eat (which mom thinks is beef).  The internist doc wanted me on a high dose of prednisone and metronidazole until my poop started looking better, then decreasing.  The interist doc said her dog was on it for 6 months!  Mom does NOT want me on corticosteroids (especially off and on for the rest of my life!), so we are trying a more holistic route, including digestive enzymes (which have really helped my poop) and I started on some stuff for IBD last night.  Mom got it from a company called Animal Essentials.  We will also be seeing Darwin's holistic vet in a few weeks and she might do allergy testing and figure out a holistic homemade diet.

So, stay tuned for updates on how I'm doing on the non-medication stuff.
Mom promises she'll blog more pictures soon!

They put a camera WHERE?!?!

So I had my 'procedure' done last week at the special doc's place.
They have such a nice waiting room:

They kept me most of the day and gave me some stuff to make me sleep.  When I woke up, I was in a different place and, um, both ends of me were sore.
I was still pretty sleepy:

Then I heard them tell mom and dad that they put a CAMERA down my throat and, get this....UP MY BUTT!!!!!

They did something called a BIOPSY and we'll get those results in a few days.
The special doc said she saw things in me (through the camera!) that makes her think I have Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
Mom's not too thrilled with the treatment plan, which includes 20mg prednisone twice a day for who knows how long.  So mom's looking at other options, including a holistic vet (Darwin's ), herbal treatments, and raw food diet.
If anyone has any suggestions/recommendations, mom would be thrilled to get some help on this!!!

p.s.:  despite the pictures, I'm feeling much better and am practically back to 100%

I am NOT M.I.A!!

Mom has just gotten into a funk with me being sickly and stuff.
This Wednesday, I have to get another 'procedure' done.  She won't tell me much about it, but it's something to do with Scope.  I don't think my breath is THAT bad, but whatever.

I'm feeling a lot better so I got to play with my buddy, Memphis, over the weekend.

A note from Remi's mom:
After ruling out many things, we're thinking Remi might have inflammatory bowel disease, so he's having an endoscopy/colonoscopy with biopsy done Wednesday to see for sure.
At least after that, we'll have some idea of what it is and how to treat it.

Freaking Cold Snow!

Happy New Year everyone!

Mom and dad took me up to where there was lots of snow, but it was REALLY cold (like the high was 10)!
We went on a walk, but it was quick cuz my feet were freezing!

Hurry up mom!  I'm turning into a pup-cicle!

Ahhh.  This is more like it!!

The next morning, the pawrents and their friends went sliding down this hill.
Me and dad are WAAYYY at the top:

Woo Hoo!!  Here we come!!!

I'm beating you, dad!

Beat you guys, too!!!!
I had a blast!  Maybe mom will have those boots for me next time!

UPDATE on my blood workup and poopiness:
So far, pancreatitis and Addison's disease have been ruled out.
I have my appetite back, but my energy level is still lower than normal.  Not enuf energy yet to play with my bud, Memphis, which is a bummer.  Plus, I've dropped weight, which wouldn't be a big deal, but I was already at my fighting weight.
Mom thinks the vet will have me see an 'internist' to help figure out what's going on (thank goodness for pet insurance!!!), like if its inflammatory bowel disease or a food sensitivity or something.
The not-knowing is driving mom bonkers!
