Danes, Danes, everywhere.....and they all look the same!

Yesterday, I went up to Marymoor park for Darwin & sibs' 1st birthday par-tay.  I've never seen so many Great Danes!!  And, since they are all related, they all looked the same.  It was a little confusing, but I tried to remember names by collars.  Here's me and Darwin at the feeding of the cake:
The cake was so yummy.  I tried to sneak 2 pieces, but mom caught me.  Here's me finishing off the crumbs:
Me and Darwin's brother, Boo:
I felt a little outnumbered:
Then, after eating the cake and meeting all the sibs, we went into the off-leash area and I played and played for a good hour.  I was very pooped afterwards.
It was really fun meeting Darwin and her family.  I hope they all had a super time at their b-day par-tay!!

Belated birthday pressies and "New Toy Saturday"

Mom figured my tummy was doing okay, so she gave me the pressie she'd been saving from my 6-mo b-day last week.  The frozen bison knuckle.  It was a huge thing.  They must have ginormous toes!  I was very excited:
I even sat and waited like a good boy until I was told it was okay to dig in:
I worked on it for about an hour and mom finally took it away to finish another day.  While I was chewing on it, mom and dad got to watch Dogs 101 on Animal Planet, where they talked about Ridgebacks.  They said we had the heart of a lion and would look danger right in the face.  There was a lady on there that talked about having a RR as a marathon training partner.  That was way cool since that's me and mom's plan (in a few years).
Now on to "New Toy Saturday".  Mom has been using my old bed (my very first bed) as my toy basket.  Here are the toys from last week:
The yellow duck is a gift from my sis, Nala, when we first met.  The glo-ball is a gift from my Nana.  As you can see, there's only 4 toys.  I was successful at hiding the other one.  It took mom another hour to find it.  Here's the "new" toys for this week:
Okay, I admit it's kindof fun getting different toys. I really missed the Santa bottle butt and the kong wubba, a gift from my blog bud, Darwin.

Can you believe I used to fit into that bed.  Check out this old pic from 5 months ago:

Well, today I'm hoping to meet up with Darwin, finally.  Hopefully the rain will let up.  Happy Sunday everyone!!!

New Toy Saturday

Furst of all, let me get caught up on yesterday.  It was a belated Festivus miracle.  The rains stopped and the sun came out.  I got to go play with my bff, Tasman, during lunch break at work.  We played in the sun for an hour.
Today is the last class in mom's intermediate obedience course.  She is already looking into other classes for her.  She looking into some fun stuff for me called 'Tracking' and 'Agility'.  Sounds cool.

Later today is New Toy Saturday.  Okay, let me clarify.  I typically DON'T get a NEW toy on Saturdays.  Mom and Dad just think they're being sneaky (or they think I have amnesia).  I get 5 toys to play with.  On Saturdays, they take away the toys I've had for the week, put them in my toy bin, and give me different 5 other toys.  It is kindof fun getting different stuff each week.

If mom gets any pictures of New Toy Saturday this afternoon, I'll post them so you can see how it works.  It's a beautiful day today.  Maybe I'll run into my bro, Milo, at the dog park.  He might not be there, though, because he just had his 'Tutoring'.
Later....

It may not look like it, but I'm feeling much better today.  I just have a Biscuits hangover.  Biscuits is the name of the place I go to play all day.  Then I come home, eat, and crash.
Mom took Darwin's advice and had a sample of my art work checked by my doc to make sure there were no wormies or other buggie-boos in it.  The vet said it was a-ok.  They also told me I didn't look too skinny, but that I look Bee-you-tee-ful!  What can I say.  Those vet ladies LOVE me!!!

I also want to let everyone know that my blog buddy, Darwin, is turning 1 year old in a couple days.  So make sure and wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
She also gave me a cool award that I'll make sure to put in the next blog, after I get my beauty nap...

I'm 6 months old!

I turned 6 months old yesterday.  Mom had some special treats for me (bison knuckle & a new twin hoofer), but I hadn't been feeling well.  Without getting too graphic and gross, I'll just say mom had a hard time using the pooper scooper to pick up after me.  So, instead of getting my treats yesterday, I ended up having chicken and rice for my meals (not a bad deal), extra pumpkin, and no flossies (bummer).  I do feel a little better today.

Me and mom & dad went on a long walk along the BPA yesterday when the sun came out (for a few minutes).
Mom wants me to ask any other Ridgebacks out there about how much food you eat.  I weigh about 53 lbs and was having 2 cups puppy food & 2 cups adult food daily.  Plus, training treats in addition to that.  I'm VERY active.  She says I'm looking too skinny, so she is going to increase my food to 2 cups puppy food & 3 cups adult food daily.  Does that sound like too much or is it normal?  Maybe I'll ask my sis, Nala, or my new Ridgeback blog buddy, Beaudor.
